Penny is a special doe to us. She was very wild when I got her, but has tamed up nicely. I suspect she is a bit smaller than her genetic potential (we bought her as a long yearling) but she still milks great and boy can she eat. I like that she is very quiet and so are her kids. She is all business.

She has beautiful ears, a good roman nose, very nice dairy character, strong feet and legs, and a very good udder, with a very high rear. She milked 20 months her first freshening and her hand sized teats and good attitude make her my favorite to milk! For her smaller size she's a great milker, she is currently milking a solid 9 lbs a day at 4 weeks fresh! Her first milking granddaughter is milking 8 lbs a day as a first freshener.

In the picture to the left she is dry.

Penny was appraised in 2009, scoring
VVVV 87.

Penny was bred to Blue for 2010. She had triplets. I was thrilled to get two doelings from her, and a beautiful buckling. I have retained all three.

Penny passed away this year (2010) from silent Pnuemonia. I am thankful God gave me three doelings from her to continue her lines. She was a great little doe that worked so hard and the first doe to kid on our place. She will be sorely missed.
